Friendsh** Or (The Complexities of Gen Alpha Relationships)

Friendsh** or (The Complexities of Gen Alpha Relationships) is a theatre production by children of CampusImpact, which includes: writing the script, directing, performing, designing costumes, applying stage make-up, creating sets and managing props.

Through this project, our children are able to let their voices and their stories be heard, help them gain an appreciation for the artistry and creativity in the performing arts, as well as experience the technical and design elements that bring a production to life. Every child can find their niche and contribute to the magic of theatre in a way that suits their interests and strengths.

The performance provides a glimpse into today’s complicated world of friendships through our protagonist, Syaz. Syaz, a hopeful and imaginative girl, navigates primary school life and struggles with a couple of peers who make things a little harder for her. Elsewhere, a mysterious scientist dives into the issue of loneliness and attempts to solve it. We hope this show can advocate for children / youth issues and explore the meaning of true friendships as we strive to make Singapore a more united and caring society.
