Heartstrings: Propulsion 2025

NTU Contemp{minated} proudly presents Heartstrings: Propulsion 2025, a dance production that explores the endless possibilities of chanced encounters with different souls throughout our lives. Each encounter, however brief, brings raw, unfiltered emotions that shape who we become —the warmth of a kindred spirit, the ache of loss, the beauty of a memory that lingers, and the resilience we discover as we carry memories of those who once walked beside us. We pay tribute to the many ways we enrich each other’s lives and honor the lasting bonds that remain with us, like footprints on our hearts, guiding us through life.

More than we realize, our lives are shaped by these connections, from the moment we are born, and as we age into maturity. This year, Contemp{minated} is proud to present 9 items for Heartstrings: Propulsion 2025, by our resident instructor Shannon Choo, 3 external choreographers, 6 student choreographers, and 1 alumni choreographer! Each item is inspired by different graphs of closeness. Blending the art of movement with the myriad of connections we form within this life, we invite our audience to think deeper about how these relationships, however brief or lasting, have an undeniable impact on their lives.
