Teriver Cheung is an award-winning Hong Kong jazz guitarist and composer whose career reflects resilience and artistic vision. A cancer survivor who made a powerful return to the international stage, Teriver shares insights on overcoming life’s challenges and sustaining a meaningful career in music.
He is the founder of Drip Music, an organisation dedicated to contemporary jazz and chamber music through innovative cross-disciplinary collaborations. Its flagship project, Ensemble Transience, nurtures the next generation of talent by bridging jazz and classical traditions while expanding music education outreach.
Presented by the Jazz Association (Singapore), this session also explores his approach to guitar and composition, drawing from collaborations with artists such as Billy Childs, Eddie Gómez, Keita Ogawa, and Eric Marienthal.
